As part of the INSET project, we are actively working on the creation of an Industrial Symbiosis (IS) Observatory — a virtual hub that will bring together industry stakeholders, promote sustainable practices, and provide a space to share knowledge, ideas, and best practices.
This initiative is particularly important for us because it combines our desire to build a community-driven platform with our commitment to industrial sustainability. Once launched, the Observatory will allow businesses, professionals, and public authorities to learn, exchange insights, and collaborate, fostering a culture of circular economy and shared innovation.
About the INSET Project
The INSET project aims to implement Industrial Symbiosis across industries and transform business networks towards circularity and sustainability. Industrial Symbiosis encourages collaborative resource sharing, turning one industry’s by-products into another’s raw materials, reducing environmental impact while generating economic and social value.
Syxis’ involvement in INSET includes the validation of the INSET capacity building methodology, the development of the INSET app, the analysis, design, and development of the IS Observatory, the integration of IS content and creation of usage guidelines, and active participation in building the stakeholders network and supporting dissemination activities.
By bridging the gap between sustainability needs, knowledge of IS practices, and emerging professional skills, INSET is helping industries and public authorities prepare for the transition to circular models.
