On 26–27 May 2026, Syxis will participate in the ECTP Conference 2026, one of Europe’s key events dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and the future of the built environment.
As an active member of European Construction, built environment and energy efficient building Technology Platform and part of the Built4People ecosystem, we will contribute to the conference discussions with a perspective strongly rooted in participation, regenerative development, and collaborative innovation.
“Co-Creation as Methodology”
On 27 May at 14:10, Federica Scippa will present “Co-Creation as Methodology” within the session “Cultural Heritage as Innovation Driver for Sustainable Built Environment”.
The presentation explores how co-creation can become a practical methodology to design more regenerative, resilient, and inclusive environments — starting from the knowledge, experiences, and creativity already embedded within communities and places.
Rather than treating cultural heritage as something static, the speech presents heritage itself as a continuous process of collective adaptation and collaboration across generations. In this vision, local knowledge, social memory, and community participation become essential drivers for sustainable innovation.
From theory to practice: the experience of ReBoat project
The presentation will also showcase the experience of REBOAT Project, a European initiative focused on circularity, citizen engagement, and local value creation in island ecosystems.
Within REBOAT, Syxis contributes to the development of participatory processes that actively involve citizens, schools, SMEs, tourism actors, and public administrations in transforming waste into new opportunities through co-ideation, co-design, and collaborative experimentation.
The project represents a concrete example of how digital and social innovation can work together to support circular and regenerative transitions.
Kartu Platform: digital spaces for collective innovation
A central element of our approach is the Kartu Platform, developed as a flexible digital co-creation environment designed to facilitate engagement, idea generation, structured feedback, and collaborative decision-making.
The platform enables organizations and communities to create virtual spaces where stakeholders can contribute ideas, evaluate proposals, participate in challenge-solving activities, and collaboratively shape solutions — both synchronously and asynchronously.
Through projects like ReBoat and initiatives connected to the Built4People ecosystem, we continues to promote methodologies that place people, collaboration, and place-based knowledge at the center of innovation for the sustainable built environment.
