We are proud to announce that Syxis has been recognised as a Key Innovator by the European Commission’s Innovation Radar, a prestigious initiative that identifies high-potential innovations and the organisations behind them emerging from EU-funded research and innovation projects.
This recognition highlights Syxis’ contribution to the AUTO-TWIN project, where our team has played a strategic role in developing innovative technologies that are helping shape the future of AI-driven manufacturing and Digital Twins.
About AUTO-TWIN
AUTO-TWIN aims to overcome the limitations of traditional system engineering by introducing a breakthrough methodology for the automated generation of autonomous Digital Twins.
The project leverages Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins and a Common Data Space based on the International Data Spaces (IDS) architecture to automate the creation of digital replicas of physical systems, making the process more efficient, scalable and cost-effective.
In addition, AUTO-TWIN integrates new hardware technologies into the digital thread through smart Green Gateways, enabling secure connectivity and intelligent data exchange across manufacturing environments.
Three AUTO-TWIN Innovations Recognised by the Innovation Radar
The European Commission’s Innovation Radar recognised three innovations developed within the AUTO-TWIN project, acknowledging the contribution of Syxis and other consortium partners.
Circular Data Space for Secure and Controlled Data Sharing (Exploring)
Developed by Syxis and ASOCIACION DE EMPRESAS TECNOLOGICAS INNOVALIA, this innovation provides a secure and interoperable data-sharing environment that enables trusted collaboration across industrial stakeholders while preserving data sovereignty. Built upon the International Data Spaces (IDS) framework, it facilitates the automated creation of Digital Twins by enabling secure, controlled and efficient industrial data exchange.
Digital Product Passport: A Twin Passport for High-Resolution Track and Trace (Market Ready)
Developed by Syxis and GIOUMPITEK MELETI SCHEDIASMOS YLOPOIISI KAI POLISI ERGON PLIROFORIKIS ETAIREIA PERIORISMENIS EFTHYNIS, this market-ready innovation introduces an advanced Digital Product Passport capable of providing high-resolution tracking and tracing of products, assets and manufacturing variables throughout the production lifecycle. The solution improves transparency, traceability and lifecycle management, supporting more sustainable and circular manufacturing.
Reducing Skills & Knowledge Gap and Empowering Humans through AI: Workforce Readiness Tools for Data-Driven Digital Twins (Tech Ready)
Developed by Syxis in collaboration with ERRE QUADRO, this innovation introduces AI-powered tools designed to assess workforce readiness for the digital transformation of manufacturing. By analysing workers’ competencies and comparing them with the skills required by AI-driven production systems, organisations can identify knowledge gaps, support targeted upskilling initiatives and better prepare their workforce for the factories of the future.
Syxis ‘ Contribution to AUTO-TWIN
Syxis has been one of the key technology partners throughout the AUTO-TWIN project, contributing to several of its core technical building blocks.
Our team supported the definition of the project’s software architecture and integration guidelines, ensuring interoperability between the different technological components developed by the consortium.
Syxis was responsible for the development of the Twin Edge and Twin Legacy, enabling Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to communicate with higher-level enterprise systems for the secure exchange of production data, alarms, recommendations and operational insights.
We also leaded the development of the Twin Data Enrichment and Access Management System, which enriches industrial time-series data with contextual information and metadata, making data more meaningful and valuable for end users.
Another major contribution has been the Digital Track and Trace system, the technological foundation behind the recognised Digital Product Passport innovation, enabling high-resolution tracking of manufacturing variables throughout the production process.
Recognising that successful digital transformation depends on both technology and people, Syxis developed the Worker Profiler and Production Profiler. These AI-powered tools assess workforce competencies against emerging technological requirements while evaluating the technological maturity of production systems, helping companies prepare for AI-enabled manufacturing.
Beyond technology development, Syxis ensures that AUTO-TWIN complies with all relevant legal, ethical and societal requirements, promoting trustworthy and responsible Artificial Intelligence throughout the project.
Finally, through the AI4Manufacturing Community, coordinated by Syxis, the project benefits from a wider European ecosystem dedicated to Artificial Intelligence in manufacturing. By fostering networking, clustering and knowledge exchange among EU-funded initiatives, AI4Manufacturing maximises the dissemination and long-term impact of AUTO-TWIN’s results.
Driving the Future of European Manufacturing
Being recognised as a Key Innovator by the European Commission’s Innovation Radar represents an important milestone for Syxis and confirms our commitment to developing impactful digital solutions that support Europe’s industrial transformation.
We would like to sincerely thank the entire AUTO-TWIN consortium for the outstanding collaboration, shared expertise and common vision that made these achievements possible.
Together, we continue building a smarter, more connected, resilient and human-centric manufacturing ecosystem for Europe.
