On October 16 (10:00 – 11:30 CEST), Syxis will join international partners for the closing webinar of the INSET project: “Shaping the Future of Industrial Symbiosis: The INSET Observatory and Policy Brief”.
The session is featured in the official #ErasmusDays 2026 calendar, aligned with this year’s focus on “Learning and growing: skills for tomorrow”. It brings together three years of work by the INSET consortium to support cleaner, resource-efficient manufacturing across Europe.
Industrial symbiosis is straightforward in concept—using the waste, by-products, or excess energy of one facility as an input for another. In practice, however, making this transition requires the right tools, updated policy frameworks, and targeted green skills.
During the webinar, the INSET team will present two main outcomes of the project:
- The Industrial Symbiosis Observatory: A practical digital platform designed for businesses, VET providers, and local authorities looking for real-world case studies, data, and technical tools.
- The INSET Policy Brief: A set of concrete policy recommendations aimed at removing regulatory barriers and supporting circular economy practices at regional and national levels.
We will also hear from project partners in Italy, Spain, France, Slovenia, and Lithuania, who will share insights on how cross-border cooperation is helping address green skill shortages in industry.
The webinar is aimed at policymakers, public authorities, companies, business associations, education and training providers, researchers, sustainability professionals and other stakeholders interested in Industrial Symbiosis, the circular economy and the green transition.
Participation is free, but prior registration is required.
